During the summer in Shanghai, the 2026 International Students Fashion Summer Camp, jointly organized by Shanghai International Fashion Education Center (SIFEC) and China Campus Network (CCN), successfully concluded with inspiring memories and meaningful experiences.

Over two weeks, more than 90 international students from countries including Russia, Mexico, and Italy gathered in Shanghai for an immersive journey of language learning, fashion, art, and cultural exploration. Through language as a bridge and creativity as a connection, students experienced the charm of Chinese culture and the vibrant spirit of modern Shanghai. 

Chinese language classes became the starting point of each day's learning journey. Through real-life scenarios, interactive activities, and engaging conversations, students gradually improved their communication skills in Chinese.

From their first greetings in Shanghai to confidently sharing stories about their travels and hometowns, students experienced remarkable progress. More importantly, every conversation became an opportunity to connect hearts, build understanding, and create friendships across cultures. 

Beyond the language classroom, students explored the beauty of traditional Chinese culture through hands-on experiences.

·In the calligraphy workshop, students practiced brush techniques and created artworks combining the traditional "Fu" character with 2026 Year of the Horse designs, blending cultural meaning with personal creativity.

·During the lacquer fan workshop, students experienced the beauty of traditional craftsmanship by creating unique fan designs with flowing lacquer patterns. Through colors and textures, they discovered the philosophy of harmony and natural beauty within Chinese aesthetics. 

·As one of the highlights of the camp, the fashion draping workshop provided students with an opportunity to explore creativity through SIFEC's professional fashion education resources.

Guided by experienced instructors, students learned about fabric characteristics and draping techniques, transforming simple fabrics into original fashion pieces inspired by Chinese aesthetics. Here, fashion became more than a concept — it became a way to express ideas and creativity. 

The Shanghai city exploration extended learning beyond the classroom.

Students visited iconic locations including Nanjing Road, the Bund, Shanghai Museum, and Oriental Pearl Tower, experiencing the unique blend of Shanghai's historical heritage and modern development.

From traditional architecture to the city's spectacular skyline and night views along the Huangpu River, students discovered the diverse stories and dynamic spirit of Shanghai. 

The international student exchange session created a warm space for cultural dialogue.

Students from different countries and SIFEC students shared stories about campus life, hometown traditions, popular culture, and future dreams. Through open conversations, cultural differences became opportunities for understanding, respect, and friendship. 

Although the two-week journey was short, the memories created in classrooms, workshops, city explorations, and cultural exchanges will last a lifetime.

The camp was not only a journey of language learning and creativity, but also an opportunity to broaden perspectives and build meaningful connections.

Through Shanghai, students discovered a China where tradition meets innovation, openness meets confidence, and cultures connect through shared experiences.
