When AI Rewrites the Rules of Fashion: A Hands-On Session on Leveraging the Shift

日期:2026-09-23 08:20:23

As part of the 42nd Teachers' Day and the 11th SIFEC Teachers' Day Activity Week, Shangxuetang hosted two themed sharing sessions on "AI + Fashion" on September 13. Focusing on "Shanghai-style Color Aesthetics × AI Application" and "Rapid Fashion Short Film Production," the sessions guided fashion industry professionals in shifting from pure design capability to design–AI collaborative efficiency.

Two industry experts were invited to deliver content-rich, hands-on presentations, with participants praising the material as "ready to use right away." Let's revisit the highlights of this inspiring session on leveraging AI for a breakthrough!

The first session was led by Lumy, a National First-Class Color Coordinator and specially appointed color lecturer at SIFEC. With nearly 20 years of frontline teaching experience in the fashion industry, Lumy brings extensive expertise in color management consulting, combining a solid teaching foundation with a keen sense of fashion.

This time, rather than chasing trends blindly, she guided participants into the cultural core of Shanghai-style color aesthetics—exploring how the city's unique visual DNA can be translated into a practical color-matching logic. Moving beyond trial-and-error in color coordination, Lumy walked the audience through a complete "Cultural Input → AI Output" workflow on-site: from extracting color genes rooted in Shanghai culture, to leveraging AI tools for efficient generation of mood boards, color palettes, fabric selections, and finished-garment visualizations. With clear, step-by-step guidance, she demonstrated that color matching is not mysticism—it is a systematic, evidence-based process.

The second session, 20 Minutes! Creating Fashion Short Films from Scratch, was led by Natalie, a distinguished alumna of the Rhode Island School of Design and a global instructor for the AI creative platform IPVISE. Her works have been selected for six international film festivals, including the London International Animation Festival and the Slamdance Film Festival. She brings years of hands-on experience in end-to-end brand advertising and fashion short film production.

In this session, Natalie guided participants through the current AIGC video tool landscape and the logic behind viral content—skipping complex software and focusing entirely on ready-to-use methodologies. She demonstrated live how to use the IPVISE platform from scratch, completing a fashion short film with narrative rhythm and brand identity in just 20 minutes. From tool tutorials to workflow breakdowns, and finally to result sharing and showcase, participants followed along step by step, witnessing a short film come to life before their eyes. As one participant remarked: "I never realized the bar for creating a polished brand short film was this much lower than I expected."

Both sessions concluded successfully amid a content-rich and highly interactive atmosphere. Participants shared that through the two insightful presentations, they not only mastered the complete pathway of extracting color genes from Shanghai-style culture and applying them through AI, but also experienced the efficiency and joy of rapidly producing fashion short films using AIGC tools.

This event was more than a deep collision between color aesthetics and digital tools—it was a capability leap from "having an eye for aesthetics" to "delivering tangible output," offering fashion professionals a clear path to ride the wave as AI reshapes the rules of the industry.
