Following the success of last summer's "Immersion Hub” Global Exchange Program, Shanghai International Fashion Education Center (SIFEC) hosted the "Future with China" Winter Camp in Jan. 2025. Over two weeks, 13 students from Russia engaged in a series of immersive courses and workshops, designed to broaden their global perspectives, leading them to experience China's rich cultural heritage and Shanghai's dynamic fashion scene.

The Winter Camp featured SIFEC's signature courses in Draping, Chinese Painting and Padel, while also offering Chinese cultural courses such as Mandarin Learning and Chinese Knot, allowing students to explore both artistic expression and cultural experiences.

Fashion Draping: Students, with no prior experience, were introduced to the fundamentals of fashion design, gaining hands-on insight into the intersection of art and technology while experiencing China's growing economic power.

Chinese Painting: Participants explored the history and techniques of Chinese painting by creating ink lotus flowers on round fans, fostering an appreciation for Eastern aesthetics.

Padel: Students learned the rules and skills of cricket, enhancing their understanding of sports culture in China and participating in friendly competition.

Mandarin Course: This course provided students with an essential foundation in Mandarin, helping them understand the linguistic and cultural nuances of China.

Chinese Knot Making: Under the guidance of expert instructor, students learned the intricate art of knotting, producing their own unique pieces and gaining insight into this traditional Chinese craft.

The program highlighted China's modernization and its growing influence in the global fashion industry. SIFEC's international educational initiatives continue to promote cross-cultural exchange, attracting global talent and fostering innovation in the fashion sector.
