2024 China Cup National Fashion Design Vocational Skills Competition final and award ceremony took place on October 17 at the Shanghai International Fashion Center. With the theme "Neo-Chinese Style Leads New Fashion," the competition showcased the unique appeal of Chinese fashion through Eastern-inspired designs.

Founded in 1995, China Cup has always been known as the "Cradle of Outstanding Designers”. This year, the competition took the form of a national vocational skills contest. Since its launch in April, the competition has attracted 61 contestants from 16 provinces, with 24 entering the final. Two designers won the championships, highlighting the creativity and talent of China's new generation of designers.

 

The final featured three segments: New Chinese Style fashion presentations, live hand-drawing tests, and 3D draping operations, assessing contestants' skills comprehensively. A new "Ready-to-Wear Static Review" segment focused on fabric and craftsmanship, judged by industry experts. Many participants have found the live tests challenging but inspiring.

   

Ji Shengjun, President of Orient International (Holding) Co. Ltd., emphasized the company’s commitment to promoting the "New Chinese Style" aesthetic and building an industry chain around it. During the event, the Shanghai Fashion Designers Association signed cooperation agreements with organizations from Hong Kong, Liaoning, and Jiangsu to advance the "New Chinese Style" ecosystem and foster regional collaboration.

 

As part of Shanghai Fashion Week, the 2024 China Cup aimed to cultivate design talents and contribute to the high-quality development of China's textile and apparel industry.
