During December 16 to 19, 2024, SIFEC Fashion School faculty members Zheng Xingyu and Zhao Kaiyu visited Jiangnan University and local enterprises to expand research partnerships, promote industry-academia collaboration, and support the sustainable development of fashion industry.

Accompanied by Dai Jingyu, Head of Fashion Design at Shanghai Sanda University, the team engaged with experts from Jiangnan University’s Textile Science & Engineering School and Digital Technology & Creative Design School. Discussions centered on smart textiles and knitting technologies. Professor Sun Fengxin led a tour of key laboratories, showcasing innovative projects such as pneumatic soft robotics using knitting techniques and textile-based mechanical sensors. Both sides identified shared research interests and agreed to collaborate on advancing academic resource sharing and industrial applications.

The delegation also visited industry organizations, including the China Textile Machinery Association and the ZHIWU design studio, gaining valuable insights into industry standards and future trends in knitwear fashion and fabric development.

This exchange laid a solid foundation for future projects, reinforcing SIFEC’s commitment to integrating education, research, and industry. The initiative aims to accelerate technological innovation and drive the sustainable, intelligent transformation of the fashion industry.
