An overview of the fabric textile industry, including core technological processes of raw material - fiber preparation - spinning - fabric forming (knitting, woven, non-woven) – finishing etc., common material terms and an overview of the fabric market for students to have an in-depth understanding of fabric industry

· Cutting edge of fabric technology

Functional fabrics, environmentally friendly and healthy fabrics, intelligent fabrics, high-performance fabrics, industrial fabrics and other high-tech fabrics

· Fashion trends of fabric

Analyzing the fashion trends of fabric pattern, color,texture and finishing method in recent years

· Quality standards of fabric sales

Ecological textile evaluation standards, fabric performance evaluation standards, fabric color fastness standards, objective evaluation of fabric style, fabric color and gloss testing and other commonly used testing standards and methods in fabric trade

Classification of yarns, structural characteristics, basic characteristic parameters of yarns (fineness, twist direction, twist degree), performance characteristics of yarns, processability and quality evaluation of yarns, influence of yarns on fabric structure style

· Knowledge of textile fabrics

Fabric composition and composition analysis, fabric category, basic parameters of fabric, fabric performance characteristics, fabric aesthetic characteristics, fabric identification, maintenance and corresponding clothing style performance, fabric quality identification (analysis of warp and weft, positive and negative, defects, etc.)

· Fabric dyeing and finishing knowledge

Fabric dyeing and finishing process, common dyeing/printing process, dyeing and finishing purpose and style characteristics, common finishing (such as burn-out finishing, silver pressing finishing, mercerizing finishing, anti-wrinkle finishing, anti-static finishing, easy decontamination finishing, polyester artificial silk finishing, etc.)

She graduated from Donghua University majoring in Textile Materials and Textile Design, and has nearly 20 years of industry experience. She once worked as the manager of R&D department of fabric in a well-known textile enterprise and is now the director of business development, director of research department, director of fiber laboratory of Shanghai Textile Museum, member of China Textile Engineering Society, member of Shanghai Textile Engineering Society, guest lecturer of Jiaxing University and research supervisor of China Science Popularization Research Alliance.

Her main research fields are textile material structure and properties, fabric analysis, design and reconstruction, textile testing and characterization, protection and restoration of textile relics, and pattern analysis of ancient textiles. She is the author of the series of books "Fiber Cognition", "Fabric Recognition", "Physical and Chemical Testing" and "Fabric Care", and has published many works in well-known journals at home and abroad, including SCI, EI, ISTP and Chinese core journals.
