Course Content

In this program, students begin by learning the basic concepts and fashion skills, developing fashion design, and exploring how to elevate their design concepts through creative research. The curriculum also covers important topics within the modern fashion industry, such as how to build a social media ecosystem and the current and emerging technologies that can be applied in fashion design.

Students will learn the design language of haute couture and ready-to-wear by deconstructing and analyzing garment structures, understanding the entire fashion design process, from fashion illustrations and pattern-making to the final finished garment. In addition to fashion collection design and production, the program includes key marketing principles and the importance of content management for fashion brands, enabling students to analyze and develop communication strategies suitable for the fashion market.

The course also teaches students how to identify and define their own personal collections, further developing their series with consideration for collection planning, pricing, product development, and manufacturing processes. They will apply these skills to their own collections, learning how to manage every aspect of production within the broader fashion supply chain. Finally, students will present their designs in a portfolio, developing relevant business strategies and creating business plans to give their designs a commercial edge.
