The Fashion Technology (WorldSkills Selection) Module of the 2nd Vocational Skill Competition of Shanghai was successfully held on March 23, 2025, at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (NECC) Shanghai. Guided by the Shanghai Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, the competition aimed to prepare for the 48th WorldSkills Competition and the National Skills Competition by selecting top-tier skilled talents.

As the technical support unit for the Fashion Technology project, Shanghai Textile Industry Workers' College took charge of competition preparation and support. A professional team was organized to oversee venue setup, equipment debugging, and competition management, ensuring a seamless event. Professor Li Ning from the Central Academy of Fine Arts, the Chief Judge for China's Fashion Technology category in WorldSkills, provided technical guidance on event procedures and standards and shared valuable insights during the pre-competition briefing.

The two-day competition comprised four sections, requiring contestants to independently complete tasks including fashion design, process documentation, pattern making, garment construction, and ironing. The competition site was filled with intensity and enthusiasm, as contestants demonstrated solid professional skills and innovative abilities. Adhering strictly to WorldSkills competition scoring standards, the evaluation was conducted by an expert panel led by Professor Li Ning, ensuring fairness and credibility.   

The successful execution of this event not only identified outstanding skilled talents but also laid a solid foundation for the technical support work of the 48th WorldSkills to be held in Shanghai in 2026. Shanghai Textile Industry Workers' College will continue to leverage its expertise to contribute to the development of vocational skills education.
